A full week after the event, I can personally sit back and look at how we handled the event. Overall, I think it was a success! I have received an e-mail from overseas asking me to be his TEDx mentor, since he is organizing one in his city. It was an honour, of course, so I did respond and asked questions to help both us organize the event properly. IN addition, our student volunteers from Miriam College also plans to organize a TEDx in their college – cool, huh?

After the first TEDx in Manila, TEDxManila what else?, the work for the TEDxManila team isn’t over just yet. There are some stuff to finish and send to TED. In addition, there are some stuff that we need to review and improve for next year’s TEDxManila. Yes, it is far from perfect (heard comments that it was so unorganized but we took it as a constructive criticism rather than something else). Remember, this is the first time we organized such an event – without any event planning company running it – and I am proud of the TEDxManila team for achieving something remarkable with so little budget.
I received an early SMS from one of the organizers asking about how we can help the students at Miriam College stage another TEDx. There is another one planned for June (TEDxUP) but it wouldn’t hurt to have another one just before it, right? Specially when you read participants blog about it.
Anyway, the next step is asking for nominations for speakers for the next TEDx event. If you know someone who you think has a big idea to share to the world, please let us know — ASAP!
